With the holidays behind us we decided the crowds would be more reasonable and it was time to check out the St Louis Aquarium at Union Station.
The visit starts with an immersive video train ride hosted by John Goodman taking you into the aquarium. This allows crowds to be dispersed more evenly. Once you enter the impressive aquarium you experience hands on activities and up close visits with marine life in galleries of local fish in the Confluence Gallery, fish of the fish of South America, Asia and Africa in the Rivers of the World Gallery. After that you meet the Otters and Rays in a hands on exhibit space.
The breath taking finale is the walk-through Shark Canyon featuring over eighty sharks and rays swimming beside, around and eventually over you! With the light weekday crowds our visit was complete in a little less than two hours.
We completed our enjoyable day with the goofy and fun Hall of Mirrors and a ride on the St Louis Wheel. There is also the high-flying obstacle course, carousel and mini golf. What they have done with Union Station is impressive and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Union Station is part of downtown and surrounded by wonderful St Louis lofts and Condos. Loft living is still a terrific option for urban dwellers who want great views, walks to the hottest restaurants and the riverfront and all the excitement downtown living has to offer. Prices range from $79,900-$899,900.
